Meditation and Reiki

So, what is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle and supportive type of energy healing. It’s a Japanese practice, with “Rei” meaning “universal” and “Ki” meaning “life force energy.”

You may have heard it called Chi or Qi in Chinese traditions, Prana in Indian philosophies, Ki in Japan, the Holy Spirit in Christianity, Nefesh in Judaism and Mana in Polynesia.

Irrespective of the name, Reiki helps to reduce stress and anxiety. We all have the universal life force energy flowing through us.

Reiki removes blockages and improves the balance of the mind, body and spirit. It optimizes overall health and well being.

The Reiki practitioner places hands on or over the body, and directs universal life energy to the body.

Reiki has its own wisdom. Your body knows how to draw it in and use it where it needs it most.

Chakras, our energy centers:

To balance the chakras we use Reiki, breath work and guided meditation. This type of healing clears any blockages from the energetic body.

In some Eastern traditions chakas are believed to be the body’s energy centers. In Sanskrit the word “chakra” means “wheels”. Life energy flows through these spinning wheels.

There are seven primary chakras located along the spinal column. Twenty-one minor chakras are also situated throughout the body.

Chakras are blocked by stress, illness, disease and conflict. Unhealthy lifestyle choices also stagnate your chakras. Symptoms of blocked chakras include digestive issues, chronic pain, irritability, depression, anxiety, low self esteem, relationship and communication issues.

To balance the chakras we use Reiki, breath work and guided meditation. This type of healing clears any blockages from the energetic body.

I combine these practices with psychotherapy and my clients heal faster, stabilize emotionally, cope better and thrive.

Are you feeling stressed, overworked, stuck or overwhelmed? Do you have difficulty falling or staying asleep?

Meditation reduces stress, improves mental clarity, supports emotional well being, promotes better physical health, increases self awareness, inspires creativity and sharpens problem solving skills.

Meditation is not as esoteric as it seems. I will teach you a simple practice that will allow you to silence your inner critic and become more present. It will help you experience a sense of inner peace and balance. You will become less reactive and will move through life with more grace, ease and flow.

Meet Ritu

I started my professional journey as an exercise physiologist at a major metropolitan hospital which eventually led me to become a social worker at the same organization. Now, with nearly 30 years experience, I’ve worked as a mental health professional in various departments at the hospital. I assisted those struggling through their most difficult moments and have been present with just as many celebrating their best moments.

Still, something was missing. Going through life day after day, going to work, coming home and doing the same thing over and over. It was like Ground Hog Day, never ending.

I immersed myself in spiritual study; reading books, taking courses and participating in seminars. An advocate of Eastern and Western traditions, I came to love the science of spirituality and the spirituality of science.

I chose a committed personal practice that includes waking daily at 3:45 am. I do breath work. I meditate. I practice gratitude. I read and I exercise. (You don’t have to wake up before the sun rises for this stuff to work.)

Although it took some time, I eventually experienced my own, personal awakening.

My dissatisfaction was replaced with a love and zest for life. Thus began my new mission; to help you discover your hidden potential, to rise above your perceived limitations and to thrive.

It’s all inside of you right now. Let’s discover it!

My Philosophy

I believe….
I believe that we are not limited by our minds, our bodies or our spirit. We are holistic and multidimensional beings encompassing all three. Focusing on one and ignoring the others limits our full potential. We feel like we are disempowered, or missing something.

Embracing and balancing the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual has helped me feel complete.

Why are we here?

We are here to learn life lessons and to grow spiritually. Our struggles and difficulties don’t have to define us or keep us stuck. We don’t have to continuously believe that this is how we are meant to live.

We can see struggles as opportunities to grow and learn. They have molded us to become stronger and more resilient. Although our struggles help define who we are they don’t need to become our identities. We are not our struggles. We are strong, inspirational beings.

I have taken this philosophy into my practice and I balance it with a laser focus on your inner strengths. My goal is to empower you, not to keep you stuck or feeling victimized.
